With an outreach across 2 metropolises, 10 towns and cities in its region, Université de Lorraine is fully committed to the production and sharing of knowledge through intensive research, both fundamental and applied. The university made a firm commitment to Open Science in early 2010. It set up a dedicated steering committee, supported by operational committees for open publications, research data and software, to structure its actions. It has given concrete expression to its commitment by creating services to support Open Science and providing financial support for numerous initiatives promoting open access in all its forms.

Université de Lorraine is participating in working groups 3, 4 and 5 of the ALMASI project.
