IRD - Institut de Recherche pour le Développement

The Research Institute for Dévelopment (IRD) is a multidisciplinary French public research organization which, for nearly 80 years, has been committed to equitable partnerships with developing countries and French overseas territories.
As a player on the international development agenda, its priorities are aligned with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IRD has been involved in the international open science movement for 30 years. It has incorporated open science practices into its research activities on a long-term basis, and promotes them among its partners in developing countries. For example, every two years the institute organizes the Open Science in the South conference.

The IRD participates in working groups 1, 4 and 5 of the ALMASI project.
