Register for the pilot Foundational Course for Journal Editors

ALMASI is getting ready to launch the pilot edition of its Foundational Course, a training pathway developed within the project to support editors, editorial teams, and publishing professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge of Diamond Open Access.

The course will provide clear and practical learning resources and bring together 9 modules covering ownership and governance, editorial best practice, copyright and licences, open access contracts, equity and inclusion, editorial quality and management, editorial workflows in OJS 3.5, setting up a journal in OJS 3.5, and reviewer training.

The pilot will start on 15 September and will remain open for one month. It will be delivered through the EDCH Training Platform and will be mainly based on self-paced learning modules. It will also include an introductory session, a mid-course session to clarify questions, and a final session to collect participants’ feedback and discuss other points of interest. The Foundational Course will be in English.

This first pilot edition will be open to a small group of learners. Only 20 places will be available, preferably for editors and journal professionals interested in Diamond OA. Places will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis among those who complete the registration form and are selected to take part.

This is an opportunity to join the first group of learners, test the course, and contribute to improving future editions. If you would like to take part, we encourage you to complete the form as soon as possible.
